The Pre-Flight Condition Gate for Autonomous AI Agents: A 5-Primitive Framework
Abstract
Autonomous AI agents are transitioning from recommendation systems to execution systems — with real authority to buy, commit, transfer, and transact. The frameworks governing what agents do are maturing fast. The infrastructure governing when they should act does not yet exist as a standard layer.
This paper defines that missing layer. Presigate introduces a 5-primitive framework — RXI™, MMI™, CSI™, TVI™, and the composite GSI™ gate — each answering a distinct structural question about current operating conditions before any agent executes. The framework is grounded in documented failure cases: the 2010 Flash Crash, Knight Capital's $457.6M loss, and the 2026 Lobstar Wilde incident — all instances where un-gated execution produced irreversible outcomes.
The paper grounds each primitive in real market mechanics, maps the condition-gate layer to the precedent set by blockchain oracles, and presents the case that condition-gating will follow the same arc from optional to mandatory that every prior layer of critical execution infrastructure has followed.
